Cosmetic Procedures You Could Have Done At The Dermatologist

Blog

There are a number of cosmetic procedures that can be done to your face, although not all may be right for you. As you age, you may become more interested in these cosmetic procedures to give you a more youthful looking appearance. If you are beginning to show some aging signs that you aren't happy with, some of these cosmetic procedures may be right for you. Read on for some procedures, how they are used and what they are used for.

Botox Injections

Botox is an injectable toxin that is used to help even out fine lines and wrinkles in your skin. These injections and how many you are given is going to depend on how many wrinkles you have and how deep they are. Deeper wrinkles may need more injections. This can get costly if you have a lot of wrinkles, and you may want to consider a different type of procedure if you have major wrinkles. Botox injections will wear off after a few months, or they can last up to a year. These injections are safe, although they should only ever be performed by a professional dermatologist.

Dermal Fillers

Fillers are used in the skin when you have a lot of wrinkles or you have sagging skin. It can help boost your skin and give the illusion of fuller, higher cheeks. They can also be used in the lips to give you fuller lips. These can be done in a non-surgical way, and can be done in the dermatologist office. They should only ever be administered by a professional dermatologist, not at a salon or a spa of any kind.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels can help give your skin a more even skin tone and texture, as the outer layer of the skin is burned off with a chemical compound in the form of a face mask. When the outer layer of the skin is removed, it can take away minor blemishes such as acne scarring, dark spots and age spots. It can also smooth out pock marks. This procedure is done in-office and only takes a short amount of time to complete. This peel can leave your skin red and irritated for a day or two afterwards, but the redness should go away. If you continue having redness or issues, you should go back to the dermatologist.

If you are showing some signs of aging that you aren't happy with, you should talk to your cosmetic dermatologist about what types of procedures may be right for you to correct some of these signs.

Keeping Your Wits About You When You Have Skin Problems

It is never fun to wake up and notice a brand new skin issue, but unfortunately, that's what my sisters and I were up against a few years ago when we all realized we had the same skin disorder. It was ugly, it was embarrassing, and it wasn't going away, which really made us wonder if we could continue to go on. We began thinking about ways to resolve the problem, and it occurred to us that we should work with a dermatologist. We met with a medical professional who had a lot of experience in the field, and it was amazing to see how great the results were. Check out this blog for more information.
